Book of Love - Peter Gabriel

I can barely listen to this song without crying. I love it.

Lots of Knitting and Crocheting!!!!

I've been busy...knitting and crocheting that is, not so busy with much else...yet. I've been working on the Bobble Star Afghan from the March/April issue of Crochet Today!

I've also been working on the Fat Bottom Bag from The Happy Hooker(photos soon) and the Queen of Hearts bikini from Stitch 'n Bitch(photos soon).
Even with all that to do I'm still looking for more to do!!
I've also knit a couple berets for myself.

As you can see, I really like purple.

In General

Last weekend I finally bought some buttons for my February Lady Sweater. I had been using some pins I got from the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame during the summer, moving from Oregon to New York. I took a seven day car trip to get here, it would have been six days, but we just had to stop in Cleveland.

I've been thinking about going to school in the fall to become a photographer. The local community college is having a spring open house this Friday, so my mom and I are going to go check it out. My biggest concern is whether or not I'll be considered an in-state resident or not by then. I will have lived in New York for a year on august first, so I hope I'll be considered an in-state resident.

I'm currently in a knitting/crocheting slump. I have no idea what I'd like to make that I actually have the yarn for. I have many things I'd like to make that I don't have the yarn money for, but I can be patient. So, I'm latch hooking right now. I found a latch hook kit that I forgot that I had, then I have some cross stitch kits to do after that, so I'm not at a complete loss for something to do.

February Lady Sweater

I finished my FLS. I wore it yesterday to a party and everyone loved it. They couldn't believe that I made. It fits well too, a bit roomy in the armpit area, but nothing I can't deal with. I also finished a pair of socks yesterday, they fit like a dream, I love them.

Sweet iPod!!!!

I just bought myself an 8GB iPod Touch. It has got to be the coolest thing that I've ever had. Now I'll never get anything done! I've put most of the music and picture on it that I want and there are so many cool apps. I myself enjoy the free apps the best because...well, they're free. And I love the wi-fi, it's so cool. I already have wi-fi in the house, so I just needed to connect to my wi-fi for the house to get internet on my iPod. This is so cool!!!!

Felted Bag Swap and February Lady Sweater

Ravelry has got to be the best website ever. I love it, I'm addicted to it. I love all the free patterns, I love all the different groups, I love being able to look at other peoples projects and comparing things that I've made to things that others have made. It's the best, I'm on there everyday.

I'm participating in a felted bag exchange, it's really fun. I'm making a Little Slip of a Thing bag for my swap partner in a light pink and dark brown color scheme. It's quite fun to do and I can't wait to finish it.

While I'm doing that, I've been making my first February Lady Sweater. I say I'm knitting my first because I have a feeling that I'll make more that one. It's been easy so far, but I'm still on the yoke and haven't got to the lace yet, but we'll see how it goes. The yarn I'm using really isn't that dark, but in order to get the detail I had to turn the camera's flash off.

Lady GaGa

Winter Song

This is a really good song that I first heard on the Tonight Show. I already liked Sara and Ingrid before this song, but the two of them together is amazing.

First Sweater...yay

I'm working on my first ever sweater!!! It's really easy and fun, I can't wait to get it done.

Birthday!

My birthday was on the 20th of last month. I got some fish for my birthday. I've got some Neon Tetras, Rasboras, and my sister(who is sharing my tank) first got some African dwarf frogs, but they have died, so she got some Danios instead.

Finished (almost) Felted Purse

I felted my purse today! It was only the second felting project that I've ever done, the first being a felted squirrel. I'm just waiting for the purse to dry. I still have to buy the closure and a fancy button for the outside, but then it will be completely done. I can't wait!

Felted Purse

I finished knitting the purse yesterday, but haven't felted it yet. This will be only the second felted project I've done, the first being a knitted squirrel. I've never felted with this yarn before, so it should be a fun experiment. This really is just practice for a felted purse swap that I've joined...it should be fun!!!

Twilight Socks

I love my Twilight socks! The pattern isn't mine, but I did modify it to add the lace up front. I made it a lace front mostly because I don't like to/can't sew seams. I also thought that it would look good, but that was the after thought. The left sock is the original design that was on the pattern. I made part of the design for the right sock. All in all, I think it's a great pair of socks.

Hooking

I learned to crochet purely because of "Stitch n' Bitch: The Happy Hooker." If that book didn't exist, I have a feeling that I wouldn't have ever learned to crochet. But that book does exist and now I'm hooked (no pun intended)! Personally, I think crocheting if far easier than knitting. It's easier to manipulate the yarn into the shape that you want. I haven't really crocheted much, just small sample things and a baby blanket for a former teacher of mine, but I'm just getting started!

Knitting Roots

I decided to start knitting my sophomore year of high school. I had a friend who was knitting a hat during lunch, I thought the whole process looked pretty interesting. Then she knit me a scarf for my birthday, which I wear all the time. A few months later I saw another one of my friends knitting, so I asked her about it. She told me she had bought "Stitch n' Bitch: The Knitters Handbook" and loved it. This lead to me going to the bookstore and buying it. My first attempts were horrible, but it was fun. Now I can't stop knitting!!!
